Aston Villa won Carabao Cup title
Title Winner’s Reaction Is Perfectly Legitimate
There were many reactions from the media and football fans across the country after the final whistle went up yesterday morning in Cardiff, Wales when Aston Villa won the 2019 Carabao Cup against Leicester City. The winner of this competition, Jack Grealish gave a statement on social media where he gave his reaction to the criticism from some people regarding the team’s lack of victory last year in the competition.
The winner said “Dad, can I just say your name? Your name isn’t Arsenal, Chelsea, Manchester United or Liverpool, but for me it is Aston Villa. Thank you for that. Congratulations.” This win is very proud moment for the club and manager Dean Smith. Although they haven’t won any trophy recently, winning their first cup ever makes them happy.
But when someone points out the fact that the previous winner didn’t do anything last year, his reaction made perfect sense. It was logical because last year’s winner weren’t able to take part again because they couldn’t meet the requirement. So the comment was not actually aiming towards the winner as much, rather criticizing the loser for missing the chance.
It was rightfully taken by him since his side won the competition. In such case, how can we expect the person to reply to that particular comment. It doesn’t make sense for everyone to have their own opinion on the same thing. To be respectful to others, one should leave them in peace and respect all of them for their opinions.
So, in conclusion, the winner’s response was perfectly legitimate as well as appropriate. That’s the way the situation needed to happen. And who knows, next year may be their time to take the cup!
