Ed is seeking apology for political comment from the Delhi CM for making insulting remark, asking for explanation.

Ed has sent a summons to the Chief Minister of Delhi for his comments on the GOPS legislation. The chief minister in question Gopal Rai, said that the government's plan is aimed at gaining leverage over Hindus and had no regard for the rights of Muslims or Christians. He warned that if the BJP fails to understand this they will suffer consequences.

This statement by the DM of Delhi comes after Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal in a press conference accused the BJP-led government for politically motivating the government's decision to move the Gujarat Operation Plan for Security (GOPS) Bill. He added that such decisions were done solely to please the ruling party.

Following the controversial remarks, Ed Summons was issued by the Delhi High Court. In the letter, Ed requested the chief minister to explain his statement and stop spreading false propaganda against him and the DM. It also demanded a written assurance from the CM that he won't make any false statements against them as per the court order.

With the help of the counsel, the DM submitted his response on Tuesday evening. In it, Gopal Rai admitted that such comments were made in bad faith and without any regard to truth. He claimed that people should not jump into conclusions based on one factual conversation and asked that the court be served with a copy of the interview.

However, there are still some concerns about the legality of this summons, and most probably, the CM must apologize to Ed now. As for Gopal Rai, this will certainly be a historic step towards restoring the public's trust in government functioning.
