Bannon rips Senate Republican leading charge to take majority in 2024: 'Gutless coward'

Trump White House chief strategist Steve Bannon lashed out Wednesday at Senate Republicans over their push to hold on to the majority position at the expense of their own morality. "Senate Republicans are gutless and a coward," he told Fox News. "They are afraid to fight and they are fighting to take the presidency, not the Senate." Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) and his team have been pushing hard to keep their minority seat in the Senate despite Bannon's criticism. But the president's former top adviser thinks that is a waste of time as he claims their selfish goal only ends up hurting the party in the long run. “They will turn the Senate into an opposition party. And that means you can go home and your kids won’t have any job,” he said. At the same time, Bannon pointed out how much money Republicans had raked in during Trump's presidency. “Their priorities are clear. They would rather be re-elected than do anything good for America.” He added that Republicans would benefit more from getting rid of President Biden than gaining power in the Senate. "I think the American people expect something more from them." Bannon said that Republicans who are still "clinging to the past" and would prefer to use the Senate as a means to avenge Trump's ouster were a better indication that they cared about the country.
