The Area High School Boys and Girls wrestling teams took to the mat on January 4th, looking to solidify their position at the top of their respective divisions. The boys team was led by captain and senior Jake Johnson, while the girls team was captained by junior Emily Smith.
The boys team started strong, with Jake Johnson winning his first match by pin fall over sophomore Alex Martinez in just 2 minutes. Junior Dylan McCoy also won his match by pin fall, while senior Patrick Thompson had a tough fight but was able to emerge victorious by decision.
