The Detroit Pistons held their championship parade at Joe Louis Arena, celebrating their first NBA championship since 1988. The team dominated the Cleveland Cavaliers 120-106. They won the game by a massive margin with 23 points from Ben Simmons. He had an incredible game, scoring 40 points, hitting 8 threes, with six assists and three rebounds. Tight defense was also a key to their success. With Andre Drummond starting, they defended better than they have all season. He had 25 points and nine rebounds on 11 of 17 shooting with five blocks. Reggie Jackson also scored 25, but it was mainly through his defense that kept the Cavs at bay. Blake Griffin, who has been healthy throughout his career, only got 12 minutes off the bench and didn't play much after entering the game. He did play an important role early in the fourth quarter when he went up for two free throws and scored, making the score 111-105 Pistons leading. The bench did not play a crucial role however, as the Pistons led by 10 going into halftime.

Kuzník was out due to a minor injury and will miss the next two games. This means the Cavs would be without their top scorer who is second on the team and also the leader. On the other hand, Siakam started after Griffin left the game, leading the Cavs with 17 points. Krejčí hasn’t played yet, so this could be the perfect opportunity for him to make a big impact. But before that happens, the Cavs need to keep a clean slate, not playing up 39% from the field and being a below average 3 point shooters. They also have one of the worst plus-minus numbers at -8, which can lead to some very questionable defensive plays. A clean game, dominating the paint and keeping the ball away from opponents would help the Pistons maintain their advantage over the Cavs. However, even though they may do well against the Pistons, there are concerns that this could be the last game for Kuzník. The Cavaliers lost to the Boston Celtics 116-108 on Sunday and this loss brings their overall record to 41-41. With their next four games on the road, the stakes are high.
